The referral program pays you a share of the taker fee on trades made by members you referred. It’s one of the two reward types on Calibri — see Rewards for the maker rebate and the shared payout mechanics.

How it works

  1. You refer someone. They join Calibri through your referral.
  2. They trade as the taker. Whenever a member you referred crosses the book and pays a taker fee, you (the referrer) accrue a percentage of that fee.
  3. You get paid. Referral rewards accrue live and are paid out by the daily sweep.
The reward is tied to your referred members’ taker activity — the side that takes liquidity and pays the fee — not their maker (resting-order) activity.
Because the reward is a share of the taker fee, a referred trade that pays no fee (for example at a very lopsided price — see Fees) generates no referral reward.

The rate

Referral rates are operator-set per market category and may be zero. The applicable rate is published in the rewards schedule and shown in-app — this page describes the mechanism, not the numbers.

How and when you’re paid

Referral rewards follow the same flow as every other reward (full detail in Rewards):
  • Accrue live. Each qualifying referred trade records a pending referral reward. Nothing moves for the reward at trade time — only the taker fee moves.
  • Watch it grow. Your pending total is readable in near-real-time; the rewards response separates maker and referral amounts:
  • Daily payout. A daily sweep pays out pending rewards, independent of whether any market has resolved.
  • Paid to your Safe. Referral rewards are paid on-chain to your Safe. A referrer with no registered Safe stays accrued until one exists, and amounts below gas cost roll into the next sweep rather than being lost.

Voided markets

If a referred trade’s market is voided, each share pays 0.50 and the taker fee is refunded (see Voids and postponements). Referral rewards that are still pending for it are removed; referral rewards already paid are not clawed back — you keep them.

Track your referrals

Your referral earnings — pending and paid — are visible in-app and via the API’s rewards endpoints (see the API Reference).
